Thank You HolySpirit!
Matt.10:33- Your works show off either your acceptance or denial of Christ.
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
I can relate the verse of this scripture to the happenings in our time now, where a man says he is saved by grace and need not work, going on to indulge in his excesses at will; fornicating, stealing, hating, getting drunk, etc. This man believes “grace” has covered all. Meanwhile, the other man struggles with his shortcomings everyday, praying and asking for the help of The HolySpirit to get better. Matt.24:46-51
While the first man in this scenario is busy abusing his right to jointheirship with Christ, the other in humility does not take it for granted (just like Christ who though being a God, did not show off- He studied(even though He knows all), He prayed(even though miracles will still occur if He didn’t), He allowed people persecute and inflict pain on him (note- He “allowed” it. A flick of His finger could have made those soldiers go extinct).
This was also the case of Zebedee’s sons- James and John(Mark 10:35-40) and the thief on the left hand of Christ on the cross(Matt. 23:42-43).
In Luke 6:45, Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. What the thief uttered in Luke 23:40-42; emphasis on vs 42, shows clearly how contrite he was, having accepted his wrongdoings and repented of it. It also showed his utmost belief in who and what Jesus Christ represents.
When we have faith in GOD, it affects our heart desires positively, renewing our minds which in turn birth words and actions. Luke 6:45
The Brothers and the Thief asked for similar things- being with Christ in Heaven (Albeit, the brothers were more specific with theirs- being on the left and right hand of Christ) but Christ at that time only answered one of the request because of the calibre of heart it came from (a contrite heart which really yearns for it, not the one which wanted to use “politics” to get there)
We know we’re saved by grace and are no more under the law of sin (which kills) which the blood of Christ has made of none effect and it is only those with divine understanding that knows that this victory is for our betterment, enabling us stand out as lights in a grossly dark world.
This victory wasn’t meant to make us dim our lights with the darkness or get covered up with the darkness (while believing our lights can never be dimmed because it was put there by “grace”).
We believe by “faith” that we are the lights, its now left for each to add the “works”- recharging so as not to get the light dimmed (via knowing and working with The Holy Spirit) because believe you me, if the devil can work at getting that of Christ in Matt.4:3, he’s still on the rampage for you and I (Rev 12:17)
When the rate at which you have faith by The HolySpirit becomes directly proportional to the works you exhibit, making it to Heaven is sure. Matthew 5:16, Ephesians 2:10.
