Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
Silence is the best answer for a fool
26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
This is when the fool has so taken your silence for granted (…thinking in his heart that he has power to do and undo and you cannot do anything)
The only other verse that explains it in depth is Ecclesiastes 3:7b* “…a time to keep silence (Prov 26:4), and a time to speak;(Prov 26:5)”
Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.
21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
Even Jesus Christ reiterated that fact(Prov 26:4-5) in Luke 21:12-15~ In your time of silence, they’ll persecute you, hunt you down, drag you to court, it will go from bad to worse….etc
And in your time to speak you wouldn’t even need to think of what to say because “I(GOD) will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”
