People carry crosses that has nothing to do with Jesus the Christ.
Crosses which are results of certain of our failings, and sins.
Crosses we carry because of the foolishness of disobedience.
There’s no reward for carrying such crosses.
“Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if YOU SUFFER FOR DOING GOOD AND ENDURE IT PATIENTLY, GOD IS PLEASED WITH YOU.”-1 Peter 2:20.

Nobody, including yours sincerely, wants to suffer for doing good. But Jesus assured us that if we are truly His disciples that’s exactly what must happen to us.

So to teach folks that when their relationship with GOD is good, they will have no cross to carry is a blatant LIE.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”-Psalm 34:19.
We develop spiritual muscles through the pains of afflictions.
GOD refines us in the fires of afflictions.
Even our Lord Jesus learned obedience through the things He suffered.

Listen: The Narrow Road Is Still Very Narrow.
“”Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”-Matthew 7:13-14.

*There is no successful athlete without the rigors of training. Christians should be Athletes.
*There is no successful soldier without the pains of training. Christians should be Soldiers.
*There is no successful pilgrim without the stoic austerity of pilgrimage. Christians should be Pilgrims.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”-2 Corinthians 4:17.

Luke  9:23  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luke  14:27  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

kill vanity and pride of the flesh. It also removes arrogance and haughtiness in one’s life.

Your CROSS might be your job, spouse, child, parents, finance, barreness, or being single.

The CROSS is not the end point of one’s life; it is one’s matrix for resurrected living.
~ Pst. Paul Adefarasin.

Be a Transformer and not a Conformer

The Christian mission is to transform civilians into soldiers.
A believer is not, can not, should not be a civilian of this world.
“Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.”-1 Peter 2:11.

We are at war. And one of the greatest threat to the Christian way of life is – Christians infatuation with this world.
The life of pleasure and ease. The civilian life.

Nothing is ‘purer’ than a man in whom there’s no distinction between what he does and who he is.
If what we do must always be different from who we are, then civil war is within us, and we are losing grounds,
Because He said,”…you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

Our job is to make a spiritual fact, a physical reality.
You can’t do that if you’re gonna sell your soul and remain a civilian.
You’ve got to intentionally, consciously, and steadfastly expose your flesh to the rigors of spiritual militia exercise.

“For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary the flesh. They are opposed to one another, so that you do not do what you want.”-Galatians 5:17

We are to starve our fleshly passions, and feed our spiritual aspirations.
It is an aberration, an abomination that folks are attempting to feed their flesh and spirit at the same time, the same place, and the same event.

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and also did confess the good confession before many witnesses.”-1 Timothy 6:12.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of GOD are the children of GOD.”-Romans 18:14.
